I am so sorry I haven't posted! Don't be mad at me!
I've been super busy!
I was on my way to the studio. I was wearing a white v neck and black skinny jeans and to complete the look my white Supras.
We pulled up to the parking lot of the studio and I knew I wasn’t the only artist recording here. I was just here to finish up my album for the next tour. But there are two artists that I know of for sure recording here, Charlie and some guy named, Austin.
I knew I would run into Charlie at the studio and I was really nervous to see her. I grabbed my dog tag that a fan gave me. I wear it all the time to remind myself without my fans I’d be nowhere. I also had it for good luck.
Kenny drove into the special underground parking to avoid paparazzi. He parked in a spot marked Bieber. I opened the door and stepped out of my Ranger Rover.
I shut the door behind me and the sound echoed throughout the parking lot.
“You ready?” Kenny asked me.
I smiled. “Yup!” I said. I was ready to sing, but I was not ready to see Charlie. “What if she doesn’t want to see me?” I thought out aloud.
“It’s been six months since you two have talked.” Kenny knew who I was talking about. “She wants to, trust me.” He smirked.
“How can you be so sure?” I asked. We walked to the elevator that took us up the main floor.
“I just am.” Kenny said simply. “Now let’s go, we’re already late.” I looked at the time.
“So, they can’t start without me.” I shrugged.
“Exactly.” Kenny pressed the button and the elevator door slide open. We stepped in.
“Hold the door!” I heard someone and Kenny stuck his arm out preventing the elevator from closing. A boy with dark brown messy hair and a white puka shell necklace walked in. There was a lady with him.
“Thank you.” She smiled at us.
“No problem.” I said smiling. The boy was standing next to me. He was a little jumpy and nervous like me, but I kept my cool.
“Austin, sweetie, I’m not going to stay the whole time, okay?” The lady spoke to the boy and put her hand on his head.
“Mom…” He seemed to be embarrassed. I was trying not to smile. “I got it. I’m 17 years old.” He said.
“Ok right, my big boy’s grown up.” She said giggling. The elevator doors opened up. I let the boy and his mom out first then Kenny and I followed.
We walked to studio where I was recording. The red light was on, so that meant someone was still using the studio. This studio is new so not all the recording studios are up and running.
People were walking around on their Blackberry phones, drinking coffee, just like any regular recording studio. I saw only lady come out of the recording studio and she was having a major coughing fit. I took a step back to prevent an illness.
A woman in a suit and her phone in her hand walked into the recording studio.
I let her pass. I was waiting for Scooter here. He said he was talking to someone with John, my producer. I wondered who it was but I had a small feeling I knew who, a small inkling.
I got up seven in the morning to come to the studio. I was so excited. I woke up before the alarm went off. I took a shower and dried my hair.
I let my natural curl fall on my shoulders. I put a little mousse in it to prevent frizzy hair.
I applied some makeup and unzipped my suitcase and pushed the top open. I looked through my suitcase for something to wear. It had to be perfect.
I picked out a dress from American Eagle and put it on. I looked in the full length mirror but it wasn’t right so I changed into a skirt and a floral tank top.
When I looked in the mirror, it looked like I was going to a party not the recording studio. I needed something more casual.
Then finally I saw a shirt in the corner of my suitcase. I pulled it out and put it on my body looking into the mirror. I smiled.
“Yup. This is perfect” I smiled and put it on and grabbed matching shorts and my Keds.
I grabbed my satchel and phone and walked to the elevator and down. My ride was waiting outside. I smiled.
“Good morning Miss Kessler.” I said Maya waiting for me.
“Morning!” He opened the door open for me and I got in. “You know you can just call me Charlie?”
“Yes, but it’s fun calling you Miss Kessler!” Maya laughed and I laughed.
“Can we stop by Starbucks or something?” I asked him as soon as he got into the driver’s seat.
“Yeah yes of course!” He smiled. I smiled. We drove through the town. I opened the window letting the wind blow through my hair. I watched as we drove passed a beach.
“I could get used to this!” I smiled and I heard her laugh. The beach was beautiful and I decided after I record a couple of tracks, I’m coming here.
We stopped at Starbucks and I ordered a hot chocolate. “You can get something too” I told Maya.
“No it’s alright, I’m not really supposed to.” She said smiling.
“But you are my driver now, and you do as I say!” I said. “And I say you don’t have to be all fancy and proper!” I smiled. “And you can wear whatever you want because it’s probably hot under that.”
“Really?” Maya seemed surprised.
“Yes ma’am!” I said.
“You know you don’t have to call me ma’am.” Maya turned around and looked at me.
“Yeah but it’s fun.” I smirked repeating what she said to me. Maya laughed and finally order a cup of coffee for herself.
We talked and drove to the studio. Maya’s actually a really cool person. She’s in her twenties and she’s only making money for her wedding. I thought that was so romantic.
I walked into the building where I was going to be recording from now on. It was huge. I saw people walking around on their Blackberry’s and talking on the phone.
I was escorted to the recording studio where I was recording. I met up with Scooter.
“Hey!” He said as soon as he saw me.
“Hey Scooter!!” I smiled.
“This is John, the producer, your producer.” He introduced me.
“Hey John!” I smiled. “Nice meeting you and I look forward to working with you!”
“You too Charlie.” He smiled.
“Now let’s get started!” Scooter said.
We looked through some songs that were written for me and I picked out a couple. We talked and talked for what felt like hours.
We picked a song and even got to record it. It was so much fun and I know my parents will be proud.
“Alright Charlie, that was amazing!” John spoke into the mic. John is my new producer. I looked up at Scooter and he gave me a thumbs up.
I took the headphones off of my head and fixed my blonde curls. I walked out of the recording booth and met up with John and Scooter.
“Great job Charlie! I think we’ll stop for the day. Don’t want to hurt your vocals!” Scooter smiled. I smiled at the complement.
Spenser, my manager, walked into the room. “Charlie!” She smiled. “Sorry I’m late; my son just didn’t want to go to the nursery this morning!” She put her phone in her purse.
“It’s okay!” I smiled. “I just finished recording!” Spenser smiled.
“That’s great sweetie! Come on, I’ve got lots to talk to you about.” She smiled a hopeful smile.
“Alright.” I smiled and walked out the door with her.
“Thanks Scooter!” Spenser spoke. “And John, I’ll call you later and we can go over what needs to be done about the album!” John gave her a thumbs up.
Spenser looked at me and smiled. “So, you know about Summer Palooza right?” She asked as she pushed the door open and I walked out.
“Yeah! My family went there once!” I smiled. “It was awesome!”
Spenser smiled and nodded. “Well, I got you a spot!”
I walked out of the recording studio and stopped. “Oh my gosh!” I turned around and screamed! “NO WAY!” I jumped up and down. “I’m singing at Summer Palooza!” I sang because I was so excited.
Spenser smiled and laughed. “Glad you are happy about it!”
I instantly stopped jumping when I saw him. I fixed my shirt pulling it down slightly. I looked at him and looked away not believing that’s he’s here.
